Photo Review - "NordStrom" by Mark Stevenson

Reviewers First Thoughts

First of all, I want to commend the photographer for the effort in bringing this photo to life. I will quickly point out a few things I love about this photo.

1. The Right Composition Technique (Symmetry)

Symmetry composition is generally used to capture centre oriented scenes (i.e. when placing the main subject in the very centre of the frame). Adopting this composition technique makes the photo generally interesting to look on. It helped to partition the different rhythms in the photo making us see the building from two different sides.

2. Foreground Interest

I commend the effort of the photographer to introduce some foreground interest (at the top right and left). This makes us imagine the form of the NordStrom lobby.
