4 hours a day on my mobile? You must be kidding!

When was the last time that you looked at one photograph or painting for over 4 hours? We’re betting, that unless you’re an art critic, the answer is probably, never.

The reason we bring this up is that, according to a compilation of mobile usage reports, that is the average amount of time that US adults spend on their mobile devices. Now, we’re not too dissimilar to our friends across the Pacific so these figures could quite easily be representative of us in NZ too.

We understand that social media, emails, watching movies and reading articles will take up a large percentage of those 4 hours but what do you see when you’re switching between applications? It’s the same home screen with the same image and isn’t that just a little, well, dull?

What Excio provides is an opportunity to use some of those 4 hours each day to discover something new. An interesting fact about an animal, stunning scenery from around the country or a wonderful piece of artwork.

Even if having a window to another world isn’t what you’re interested in, just seeing a different image every time you visit your mobile home screen has to be appealing, right? After all, it wouldn’t be right to stand in an art gallery and only look at one picture and ignore all the others, would it?

The same can apply to your mobile home screen. We have over 2,000 images currently in our repository and it’s growing all the time meaning that there’s always something new to see and explore.

If you don’t like what you see, simply swipe on. But if you do, then add it to your personal collection or click on it to delve deeper and discover the story behind the image. With so much to discover it’s little wonder that so many of us spend so long on our phones each day and while it’s often portrayed as a negative, with all of this information and the opportunity to learn something new at your fingertips, suddenly, spending 4 hours each day on your mobile device doesn’t seem like such a big deal.
