Hi, my name is Helen and I love photography, can't you guess. It has been a passion of mine for quite a few years now. It has gotten me threw some rough patches in life. But we all go through things which test us. My love for photography helps me get out and meet people and go places. My main hunger is sunsets and sunrises which I just love but also the tui which is my favourite new Zealand bird of all times and the native NZ Hawk, especially in springtime when the cherry blossoms and the kowhai flowers emerge and they go absolutely crazy. I have met some amazing people in my journeys around New Zealand and had the fortune to go on a cruise around New Zealand and up to Norfolk before the world changed. So was very lucky. But whether I ever get to travel again we will see how things go. Stay strong stay safe and be kind to one another in this trying time and know that you are not alone. Trying to decide what picture to put up was the hardest part, sunset, sunrise or Tui hard decisions to make sometimes. This one was taken a few years ago where I would get up at the crack of dawn and just go to the beach or wherever for the sunrise.
A little experiment with long exposure on a tripod with the fountain which I lucked out that morning as it was in full flow.

Tui photo from spring of last year.

I love the colors and the composition is amazing too!
Helen - you fountain photo literally made me stop and look at it in details when I first saw it on Excio. Such a creative angle and composition and lovely sunset! Amazing result. I think we should create the landscape discussion next here to share some tips/favourite photos? ;)
Hi Ana it was a sunrise so early morning first time i'd seen the fountain on that early so was very lucky. Had been back a few times after but it was never on so lucked out big time.
Hello Helen, the fountain really eye catching beautiful colors I like the composition as well
